Art Shirran's Captain's Prize 2009
Its all happening at Cill Dara Golf Club this weekend from the 24th July to Sunday 2nd August. The qualifying stages of the biggest tournament of the year within the club are under way with 82 from the pack of 242 participants go through to the final stages this weekend coming. Nett 65 is the leading score with Pat Hopkins (9) and Francis "hurley" Kelly (13) first on the grid along with a couple of 68s/69s etc.

ROUND TOWERS UNDER 12
Round Towers under 12s win Bord Theas final. The division 2 side had a great victory over Monasterevin at ST. Conleths Park in Newbridge Co. Kildare. This Towers under 12 side had played 7 games on a league bacis to reach the final and what an action packed game it was with Round Towers winning out.

"Cill Dara Golf Club" Art Shirran Drives- In
Art Shirran Captain of Cill Dara Golf Club got the best day of the spring for his drive-in with almost 150 members and guest, family and friends on hand to wish him well. Art and lady captain Ann Doyle arrived by horse drawn carriage to the golf club dressed for the occasion in the St Patrick's Day attire.

Mark Stafford Launch's Council Campaign
Local Solicitor Mark Stafford launched his campaign in Rathangan Co. Kildare on Friday 20th March in the Burrows pub. A large crowd gathered to wish him well on his quest in winning the Fine Gael seat in next local Council election. Among the speakers were Finula Dukes, Michael McWey,Cllr Michael "Spike" Nolan. Mark is an enthusiastic supporter and former student of community and rural development. He believes that vibrant and sustainabale communities will be best placed to face challenges ahead. We wish him well.

Spring League Final 2009
The final of the spring league was held on Sunday 22nd March for 2009 in Cill Dara Golf Club. 22 teams qualified for this event which was staged over two shotgun starts. 3 scores to count from each team and little error was the winning key. The victorious team was No 17 Gavin Doyle, Ger Connelly, Ber Brett, and Brian Donaghue, with a fantastic score of 70 points. The leading qualifiers was team No 17, Art Shirran, Anne Doyle, Tommy Burns, Ned Tracey.

St Ann's School Graduation 2009
The Graduation Dinner for St Ann's School The Curragh Co. Kildare 2009 was held in the Stand House Hotel on Thursday 18th June in the Hamilton Hall. 4 Students Gratuated receiving their certifications with family, friends, The principal Pauline Dempsey along with the all the teachers. A powerpoint presentation screened of photo's images of the students from an early age. Photo images are for viewing and more details of this fantastic night to follow.

Presidents Prize Cill Dara Golf Club 2009
The final day of Mr Hughie Garrett President's Prize took place on Sunday 13th September in Cill Dara Golf Club. 60 golfers qualified for the play off on what was a beautiful warm Sunday. A great score of 62 net was posted early in the day from Kit Harhen playing off 11 handicap, however, a great 64 net posted from Willie Barry along with his 67 from last week (131 total) was the winning combined score to claim the spoils for Willie.
